Operations Technician

We are currently searching for an experienced technician to perform tasks related to the maintenance and operation of natural gas compressor stations and associated pipelines. The successful candidate, will be responsible for assigned projects and duties including but not limited to: mechanical and electrical maintenance, regulatory compliance and related documentation, general core pipeline and right-of-way maintenance tasks; and other functions as required. This position will be based in Reidsville, NC but he or she will perform duties across the assigned district.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and repair engines, compressors, pumps, motors, valves, generators, and air compressors.
+ Manage third-party encroachment activities to prevent damage to Williams Pipelines.
+ Provide direction to contractors on Williams? damage prevention procedures, compliance, and right-of way maintenance requirements.
+ Troubleshoot and solve mechanical and electrical system problems.
+ Support project development and execution while working with cross-functional teams in Engineering Services, technical services, management, and compliance groups.
+ Work individually or in a team environment and be self-motivated to independently complete skill requirements and training; serve as subject matter expert on equipment maintenance.
+ Regularly perform a wide spectrum of non-routine, high-complexity assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment.
+ Safety is the highest priority at Williams, and a person's commitment to safe operations is a requirement for all applicants. The ideal candidate will actively participate in safety meetings and develop knowledge in all company safety policies and industry safety standards.

+ Complete and comply with all OSHA, Environmental, Emergency Response, OQ skills and company assigned training.
Qualifications
+ Have 5+ years of related experience, with oil and gas industry experience preferred.
+ A high school diploma or equivalent.
+ Associates? degree in electric instrumentation, diesel/diesel-electric and/or aircraft mechanics preferred.
+ Previous heavy-industrial mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic experience.
+ Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
+ Have a valid State Operators Driving License and excellent driving record
+ Be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, and weekend shifts
+ Possess adequate communication skills
+ Participate in the Operations Development Plan (ODP)
+ Be willing to work in extremely hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and enclosed spaces
+ Ability to carry and lift items that can weigh 50 lbs. or more
+ Be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods of time
+ Be able to work in environmental extremes while operating hand and power tools, climbing ladders, and two-way radios
+ Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
+ Team Oriented, and the ability to work well with others
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills
+ Must live within 45 minutes of the facility, and if not, you must be willing to relocate.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
