00 an hour 19 hours ago 19 hours ago 19 hours ago POSITION SUMMARY The Sports Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and organizing youth sports programs, schedule referees, scorekeepers and other staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Recruit, train and supervise volunteer coaches; recruit train and hire sports personnel.
Supervise & schedule practices, games and all personnel required at each event, including filling in as referee for games when needed.
Organize and implement the sports registration process, including promotions, assigning teams, hosting skill evaluation events and managing the computer database.
Communicate positively and effectively with all participants, volunteers and staff, including timely response to phone calls and requests for information.
Develop and implement new programs, including locating new program spaces as needed.
Develop and maintain all sports fields.
Maintain all sports equipment in good playing condition.
Substitute for subordinate employees as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May directly supervise coaches, referees, volunteers, coverage staff and support staff in the Sports Department, or may supervise in conjunction with the Sports Director.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Associate's degree (A.

) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.

CPR/AED, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training required upon hire and must remain current throughout employment.
