The NC Works Case Manager/Talent Engagement Specialist provides grant-funded services to adults and dislocated workers through the provision of job training, work experience, and job placement supports, with responsibility for overall program facilitation.
Specific activities include personalized career planning and assistance, case management, skills acquisition, partnership development, and other WIOA initiatives.
This person provides personalized career assistance to each program customer, analyzing their work background, skills, and interests to customize a career plan.
This position is housed at multiple career centers in Rockingham County, with travel required throughout Rockingham and Caswell Counties.
Essential Functions:
Performs intake duties to determine program eligibility, suitability, and orientation.
Provides case management and career counseling to enrolled program participants, including but not limited to exploration of training and educational opportunities, support to identify and apply for educational scholarships, providing job search supports, and referrals to other appropriate programs for assistance in a wide variety of areas as needed.
Markets program to potential program participants, community groups, and a variety of industry representatives.
Serves as liaison between Goodwill, the Workforce Development Board, and other program partners in the implementation of WIOA-funded adult programs.
Works extensively with community college and other training providers to ensure appropriate educational experiences for program participants.
Performs a variety of office and administrative duties including correspondence, report preparation, expense reconciliation, etc.
Extensive digital recordkeeping in multiple systems is required.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor s Degree from an accredited college or university in human services, sociology, psychology, business management, or related field.
Associate Degree and two year s related experience, or four years related experience, may be considered in lieu of Bachelor Degree.
1-year experience developing and maintaining community partnerships, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with partner agencies.
1-year experience providing case management and/or similar direct services to diverse populations.
Preference for experience in workforce development.
Strong knowledge of local social service providers required.
Intermediate or better skills in using Microsoft Office Suite and databases; comfortable using a variety of web-based learning and online job application platforms.
Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screens.
Must have valid NC driver s license with good driving record, reliable vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage.
Due to the nature of the position as a front-line human service provider, successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to be creative, self-sufficient, and proactive, with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to work alone, multi-task, and juggle competing priorities without input from others; comfortable and effective at handling volatile customers and situations; experience developing reasonable accommodations; excellent skills in verbal and written communication.
Hours:
Position is hourly, averaging 40 hrs/week.
Work is generally conducted Monday-Friday, 8:
00am-5:
00pm, with occasional requirements for evening/weekend events.
Salary:
Non-exempt position, $18-$22 per hour DOE.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
